This Section includes the activities of households as employers of domestic personnel such as maids, waiters, servants, chefs, laundresses, gardeners, gatekeepers or doormen, stable hands, chauffeurs, janitors, educators, babysitters, private tutors, secretaries, etc. This makes it possible for domestic staff to specify their employer’s sector of the economy in population censuses, even in cases where the employer is an individual. The production result of these activities is consumed by the private households employing this domestic staff.
