This service includes the provision of postal services by one or several postal service providers, rendered by one or several universal service suppliers in accordance with a universal service agreement. This includes the utilization of a comprehensive service infrastructure including points of sale, sorting and processing facilities, as well as collection and delivery routes. Postal delivery may include letter mail, i.e. letters, postcards, printed matter (newspapers, magazines, advertising media or means of promotion, etc.), parcels, goods, or documents. Also included are auxiliary services required for the execution of the universal service obligation.
This service includes:
- Collection, sorting, handling and delivery (national or international) of letter mail, parcels and packages by postal service providers working on the basis of a universal service obligation. Handling may be carried out in a variety of different ways, using both own vehicles and public transportation.
- Collection of letter and parcel post from public mailboxes and/or post office branches
