OID register for health care; search for object identifiers

You can search the publicly accessible OID register (object identifier register) "Healthcare Germany " for objects that are identified by an OID and display further information.

Description

For standardized software communication in the German healthcare system, companies that produce software or IT service providers can identify their objects. Unique object identifiers (OID) are used for this purpose.

An object identifier is a number used to identify objects. Objects can be

  • Organizations,
  • templates,
  • identifiers,
  • coding schemes,
  • value lists, so-called value sets

An OID is used to uniquely identify information objects for exchange between computer systems. These numbers are assigned because computers can handle numbers better than non-standard text.

Valid and formerly valid OIDs and associated information can be searched and displayed in the publicly available OID Registry.

You can search using a free text field or in the tree view of the registry.

In the registry, the description of the object and further metadata, as well as the responsible and requesting organization and, if applicable, contact person and requesting person are displayed for each OID.
