The examination of the suitability of the methods and media of a traffic education sub-measure, insofar as teaching and learning methods or media other than those specified in Annex 16 of the Driving License Ordinance are used, shall be carried out upon application.

Description

The driving aptitude seminar in the sense of § 4a of the Road Traffic Act (StVG) consists of a traffic educational and a traffic psychological submeasure. The sub-measures are to be coordinated by mutual information of the respective seminar leaders.

The traffic pedagogical sub-measure aims at imparting knowledge on risk behavior, improving hazard cognition, stimulating self-reflection and developing behavioral variants and comprises two modules.

There is a framework curriculum for the implementation of the traffic pedagogical submeasure of the driving aptitude seminar (Annex 16 of the Driving License Ordinance). This includes teaching/learning objectives, teaching/learning content, teaching/learning methods and media/materials to be used.

In addition to the teaching and learning methods and media listed there, methods and media may also be used that guarantee the same learning success.

The evaluation of alternative teaching and learning methods or media is the responsibility of the Government of Upper Palatinate.

Prerequisites

The suitability of alternative teaching and learning methods or media for the traffic education submeasure is determined if the submitted concept ensures the same learning success.

Procedure

The application must be submitted to the Government of Upper Palatinate in writing or electronically (by e-mail).

The Government of Upper Palatinate can obtain an independent scientific opinion from a body suitable for the evaluation of the suitability of the methods and media.

If the requirements are met, the suitability of the methods and media will be determined in the form of a notice.

The other governments and the district administrative authorities shall receive a copy of the notice.
