Motor vehicle traffic experts and examiners; request for exemption for applicants.

The Government of Lower Bavaria is responsible for issuing exemptions to applicants for recognition as a motor vehicle traffic expert or motor vehicle traffic examiner.

Description

Exceptions may be granted to the requirement of practical work as an engineer and a university, college, university of applied sciences or engineering school degree (Section 2 (1) No. 4 and (2) of the Motor Vehicle Experts Act (KfSachvG)) and to the completion of six months of training at a technical testing center (Section 2 (1) No. 5 KfSachvG).

Prerequisites

For the granting of an exception with regard to a deviating course of study, a positive ABIS evaluation must be submitted with the application (ABIS = application for the evaluation of engineering degrees).

For the granting of an exception with regard to practical work or the shortening of the six-month training, a detailed justification of the reason for the exception, an employer's reference/certificate of service or other suitable documents must be attached to the application in order to be able to justify a shortening of the periods.

This is a case-by-case assessment in each case.

Procedure

The application for an exemption is submitted by the Technical Inspection Authority to the Government of Lower Bavaria.
