Hospital charges and fees; application for approval.
The governments are responsible for reviewing the legality and approving the charges and nursing rates agreed between statutory health insurance funds and hospital operators or set by the arbitration board.
The competent government is responsible for reviewing and approving the fees and nursing rates as well as hospital-specific training supplements and discounts agreed between social service providers or working groups of social service providers and hospital operators or set by the arbitration board.
The hospital must fall within the scope of the Hospital Remuneration Act and/or the Federal Nursing Rate Ordinance.
Applications for the scope of application of the Hospital Remuneration Act should be submitted quickly after approval of the prime rate applicable nationwide. For the scope of application of the Federal Hospital Rate Ordinance (Bundespflegesatzverordnung), it should generally be made before the start of the new nursing rate period.
The charges or nursing rates may only be levied from the first of the month following approval.
