Purpose and object

To improve the working conditions of visual artists, the Free State of Bavaria provides funds for a studio support program.

In 1997, the Bavarian Studio Support Program was introduced. It provides that up to 100 visual artists (without age limit), whose income does not exceed a certain maximum, can receive a monthly subsidy of 230 euros to cover their studio costs for a period of two years, if they have been selected for this support by a commission of experts on the basis of their artistic achievements.

The grant is awarded for a period of 24 months. The grant can be awarded for a maximum of two funding periods and is subject to successful participation in the selection process.

Deadlines

An application for the funding period 2023/2024 was only possible until 29.07.2022.
