Prerequisites

• A project week is held at the school for students in grades 1 to 4 and grades 5 to 9.
• The project week is implemented over five consecutive days or as part of multi-day project modules (divided into a two-day and a three-day project block).
• The project weeks are implemented with the involvement of qualified external experts and extracurricular learning venues, e.g. in the form of cooperation with farms, initiatives for sustainability and environmental protection or health education campaigns. Programs such as "Erlebnis Bauernhof," "Landfrauen machen Schule," "Ernährung macht Schule," "Wissen wie's wächst und schmeckt," "Partnerschule Verbraucherbildung," "Umweltschule in Europa," or "Landesprogramm für die gute, gesunde Schule Bayern" can be integrated.

Procedure

Overview of the procedure in non-governmental schools:

1. Planning of the project week by the school
2. Forwarding of the concept to the school board
3. Application and sending of the application form by the school board via e-mail to the responsible government.
4. Approval by the government
5. Implementation of the project week (preferably five continuous days during the school year, alternatively divided into two parts) in all classes of a grade level determined by the school management (grades 1 - 4 or 5 - 9).
6. Forwarding of information on the successful implementation of the project weeks from the schools to the school authorities for the preparation of the proof of use by the school authorities; dispatch of the proof of use by mail within six months after the end of the approval period.
7. After presentation of the confirmation of use, the government initiates the payment of the grant amount to the school board (possibility of applying for partial payment if expenses exceeding 50% of the grant amount are documented).

Please note the different procedures for governmental and non-governmental schools (municipal schools and private alternative schools) before planning and implementing the project weeks and calling up your available budget. This will help you avoid possible inquiries by the governments and delays in the payment of invoices.

School boards of schools located in different governmental districts each submit a separate application to the respective government responsible.

The project weeks are mandatory for municipal schools.

Deadlines

The application must be submitted to the responsible government by the school board using the electronically provided application form (see under "Forms") by November 15 of each year (cut-off deadline).

The project week must be carried out by the end of July of a school year.

The grant recipients must submit proof of use (without submitting receipts) in accordance with the sample provided by the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs (see under "Forms") to the responsible government no later than six months after the end of the grant period.
