Purpose
Funding is intended to support companies in research and development projects in the field of digitization and information and communications technology and to improve and accelerate their implementation in new products, services and business processes.
Object
The funding covers the following topics and issues in particular:

Hardware and software engineering,

Data and knowledge management,
-
human-machine communication,
-
Real-time systems and embedded systems,
-
Data networks for intelligent infrastructures (e.g. energy, mobility, etc.),
-
Automation and intelligent production,
-
communication networks,
-
Technical IT services,
-
IT security.
Cross-cutting issues such as reliability, robustness, quality assurance procedures, etc. are also covered.
Research and development projects aimed at solving the above-mentioned problems are eligible for funding in the following areas
-
industrial research,
-
experimental development
in accordance with Article 25 (1) in conjunction with (2) (b) and (c) of the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER).
Beneficiaries
Eligible applicants are:
- Companies in the commercial sector and members of the liberal professions with their registered office or branch in the Free State of Bavaria,
- non-university research institutions, state universities and institutions of state universities in Bavaria.
Preference will be given to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as defined in Annex I AGVO.
Applicants must have sufficient creditworthiness to carry out the project and provide evidence of this, if required.
Eligible costs
The eligible costs are governed in detail by Art. 25 AGVO.
