The Free State supports pilot projects and demonstration projects to accelerate the introduction of new transport technologies as well as innovative logistics concepts and individual measures to optimize (rail) freight transport.

Purpose

Traffic reports forecast growing traffic volumes in all traffic areas. In order to cope with the further increase in traffic, new transport technologies must be increasingly developed and introduced to make traffic more fluid and environmentally compatible. In this context, cooperation between the road, rail, water and air transport modes in the overall transport system must be improved, the transition of passenger and freight traffic at the interfaces of these transport modes must be optimized and regional rail freight traffic must be promoted.

Funding can be provided for the development of new transport technologies, the implementation of new projects and demonstration projects to accelerate the introduction of new transport technologies and innovative projects and pilot projects of regional rail freight transport. In addition, innovative drive technologies for rail vehicles and trucks as well as the development of new logistics concepts and

individual measures for the optimization of freight transport.

Recipients of the grant

Recipients of the grant can be private individuals, legal entities under private or public law and also public or private companies.

Eligible costs

Direct project-related costs are eligible for funding. I.e. project-related acquisitions, personnel costs or costs for necessary external services within the scope of the project.

Type and amount

The regular funding rate is 50% in the form of a share financing.

Prerequisites

There must be no premature start of measures, i.e. no contracts regarding the measures may have been concluded yet.

Before submitting an application, contact should be made with the Bavarian State Ministry for Housing, Construction and Transport to clarify the specific requirements regarding the application.

Procedure

The written application must be submitted to the Bavarian State Ministry for Housing, Construction and Transportation. Further execution of the subsidy is regularly carried out by the responsible district government.
