Occupational accidents, claims and occupational diseases; conducting investigations.
The labor inspectorates at the governments conduct investigations of occupational accidents and cooperate in investigations of damage to plant and equipment.
Description
The purpose is to clarify the causes of hazardous or health-endangering events or activities, to derive necessary measures and thereby to improve the occupational health and safety of employees at their workplaces.
Findings on occupational accidents and damage to plant and equipment available to the labor inspectorates are examined to determine the need for further occupational health and safety measures. Furthermore, as an independent, neutral institution, the labor inspectorate participates in various procedural steps of the occupational disease procedure.
In order to evaluate the causes of an occupational accident, a case of damage or the occupational disease - suspicion reported to the accident insurance institution and the resulting requirements for improving the safety and health protection of the employees, an on-site visit and assessment by the Tissue Inspectorate is often necessary.
The Tissue Inspectorate works with the means at its disposal to prevent comparable occupational accidents, claims and occupational diseases in the future.
