The industrial inspectorates at the district governments advise companies on the voluntary introduction of a company occupational health and safety management system based on OHRIS.
Organization of occupational health and safety in companies; performance of inspections
The factory inspectorate checks whether the company's occupational health and safety has been organized in accordance with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (ArbSchG).
Occupational safety; application for an exception to the appointment of a company physician or occupational safety specialist
Employers may apply to the relevant trade supervisory office for the granting of an exemption when appointing occupational physicians and occupational safety specialists if the person to be appointed does not meet the legal requirements.
Occupational accidents, claims and occupational diseases; conducting investigations.
The labor inspectorates at the governments conduct investigations of occupational accidents and cooperate in investigations of damage to plant and equipment.
Working time; monitoring
The labor inspectorates at the governments monitor whether the Working Hours Act is being complied with and, in exceptional cases, approve, among other things, work on Sundays and public holidays, as well as, in individual cases, an increase in the maximum permissible working hours with appropriate compensation.

The labor inspectorates monitor working conditions on construction sites.
Mining; declaration of the appointment of a supervisor
A supervisor (responsible person) can be appointed in accordance with §§ 58 ff of the Federal Mining Act to fulfill the duties arising from mining regulations and to manage and supervise the operation.
Occupational disease; application for recognition
You can apply for recognition of an occupational disease.
Explosive substances; notification of the commencement of activities and the appointed responsible persons.
Anyone who handles explosive substances commercially must notify the competent authority of the commencement of this activity and the responsible persons appointed by him.
