Work with relatives; application for funding

Specialized centers for family caregivers provide advice and support, especially for psychosocial caregivers of elderly people in need of care. Their sponsors can receive a grant within the framework of project funding.

Description

Purpose

The purpose of the funding is to ensure a permanent, statewide service for family caregivers that complements care counseling pursuant to Section 7a of the German Social Code, Book XI or care management pursuant to Section 11, Paragraph 4 of the German Social Code, Book V. In addition to family members, other non-employed caregivers and older people in need of care can also receive advice.

Object

The task of the specialized centers for family caregivers is to provide continuous psychosocial counseling to family members in open cooperation with all parties involved in the care network, to accompany them (also on a longer-term basis) and to support them with relief services.

Recipients of funding

The primary recipients of funding are the voluntary welfare associations and their affiliated organizations, non-profit foundations and private providers, insofar as they carry out work with relatives and employ specialists.

Eligible expenses

Personnel and material expenses of the specialist unit.

Type and amount

The state grant is awarded in the form of a fixed sum within the framework of project funding. The possible lump-sum funding is based on the number of eligible specialists employed by the specialized unit. For a full-time specialist, the lump sum amounts to up to 24,000.00 euros per year.

Prerequisites

The individual requirements for funding a specialist center for family caregivers are regulated in section I. 2. of the guideline for funding in the "Bavarian Care Network". The lump-sum funding is granted in particular to trained nursing professionals as well as social pedagogues and comparable academic qualifications who are familiar with the support options for caring relatives due to several years of professional activity or who have participated in a corresponding further training course. Statutory benefits are to be claimed with priority. The specialized agencies for family caregivers require a municipal endorsement from the county or city in which they wish to operate.

Procedure

The application must be submitted in writing to the Bavarian State Office for Nursing Care. The forms provided are to be used.

Special notes

Funding is provided without legal entitlement within the limits of the available budget.

Deadlines

Applications must be submitted by December 31 of the year preceding the funding year.
