The ordinance on the fire inspection specifies in particular the purpose of the fire inspection, what the fire inspection covers, who is responsible for carrying out the fire inspection and what orders the municipalities can make.
The fire inspection covers buildings, in particular special buildings according to Art. 2 Para. 4 of the Bavarian Building Code and other facilities and objects where fires can cause considerable danger to persons or extraordinary damage to property or the environment or where concrete indications point to considerable danger.
The fire inspection is the responsibility of the municipalities.
The municipalities shall decide on the conduct of the fire inspection at their own discretion. The fire inspection must be carried out if there are concrete indications of dangerous conditions.
The municipalities may call in representatives of the local fire department to carry out the fire inspection.
The municipalities can carry out the fire inspection with their own personnel with the necessary qualifications or commission suitable experts, such as the local chimney sweep, to carry out the fire inspection or call them in to carry out the fire inspection.
In order to prevent hazards to life, health, property or possessions that may be caused by fires, the fire alarm systems, the rescue and emergency routes, the extinguishing water tapping points, the smoke extraction systems and the organizational precautions in particular should be inspected.
