• Driving licence on federal waterways; application for a patent or certificate of competency

  If you want to steer a vehicle on a federal waterway as a ship or boat driver, you need a driver's license for the respective class.

• Aerodrome; application for a permit to establish, in case of modification and for operation
  The establishment, modification and operation of airfields must be approved by the authorities.
• Occasional services by bus and coach; application for a permit
  Governments are the competent licensing authorities for occasional bus and coach services (vehicles with more than 9 seats).
• Commercial road haulage; application for a permit

  Anyone who wants to transport goods commercially in Germany as an entrepreneur with motor vehicles over 3.5 tons needs a permit. For cross-border transport, a so-called community license is required for motor vehicles over 2.5 tons.

• Large-volume and heavy transports; application for a permit or an exemption

  A permit is required for the circulation of vehicles whose dimensions, axle loads or total weights exceed the generally permissible limits set by law, or whose design does not provide the drivers with an adequate field of vision.

  Compliance with social regulations in road traffic is monitored by the state within the framework of company inspections and roadside inspections.

• Parking permit for craftsmen, sales representatives or social service; application
  The lower road traffic authorities, i.e. district offices, independent municipalities and large district towns, can grant parking facilitation to craft businesses, commercial agents and social service workers on application under certain conditions.
• Minimum safety altitude for flights under visual flight rules; application for permission to fly below it
  Permission to fly below the minimum safety altitude may be granted for flights for special purposes (e.g. aerial photography flights, film flights).
• Specialized flight operations; submission of the declaration
  The commercial specialized flight operation is subject to the obligation to declare.
• Road and subway railroads; application for the implementation of a planning approval procedure
  Operating facilities for tramways may only be built if the plan has been approved in advance. When the plan is approved, the public and private interests affected by the project, including environmental compatibility, must be taken into account as part of the weighing process.

  If you want to transport animals, you need to be licensed as a transport company before you start your activities. The application must be submitted to your competent veterinary office.

  If you want to use road transport vehicles commercially for animal transports that last longer than 8 hours, you need an approval for the transport vehicle from the responsible veterinary office.

• Animal transport abroad; registration
  For a transport of livestock or equidae as well as for traveling with equidae to another Member State or a third country, a notification to the local competent veterinary office is required.
• Environmental badge; acquisition

  Only motor vehicles that meet certain minimum requirements with regard to their pollutant emissions are allowed to drive in the designated environmental zones. To prove this, the vehicle must have a corresponding environmental badge, also known as a particulate matter badge.

• Low emission zone; application for an exemption from the driving ban

  Without a suitable environmental badge, you may only drive in environmental zones if your vehicle has been exempted from the traffic ban or an exemption permit has been issued.

• Unmanned free balloon; application for an ascent permit
  A permit is required to operate unmanned free balloons ("weather balloons").
