Purpose
With this funding program, the Free State of Bavaria will support its highly predicate health resorts and spas and its recognized medicinal spring and moor spa operations to carry out measures and examinations for the proof of medical quality in the sense of outcome quality. Thereby the acceptance of the health resort medical measures and the health in the population are to be promoted, relevant and frequent illnesses are to be prevented and the health location Bavaria is to be equally strengthened and aligned future-oriented.
The aim of the funding is to develop necessary scientific, empirical evidence on (spa) medicine and thereby further improve the medical quality in Bavaria's highly predicate spas and health resorts as well as in the recognized medicinal spring and moor spa facilities. The evidence-based criteria and indicators for increasing medical quality are to be oriented to the professional standards in a measure-specific manner. Examples are
- On the one hand, achieving sustainable patient-relevant effects, such as improvements in health status, quality of life, well-being, reduction of pain, increase in mobility, but also patient and participant satisfaction,
- on the other hand, the development and evaluation of effective new treatment methods and health-promoting measures,
if possible with the inclusion of the natural remedy or spa-specific procedure.
Subject
The object of funding is projects that are implemented as part of a therapeutic, rehabilitative, preventive or health-promoting overall spa concept.
Funding is provided in particular for studies and investigations
- to improve the evidence of preventive measures and medical interventions in the context of stays in highly rated health resorts, spas and recognized medicinal spring and peat spa facilities or
- for the orientation of the highly predicatetd health resorts, spas and recognized medicinal spring and moor spa enterprises to frequent and relevant environmental and lifestyle-related chronic diseases and complaints and medical future topics including target group-specific health-promoting offers,
if they are conducted and evaluated in a quality-assured manner with a follow-up period appropriate to the research question. In addition, funding is also provided for the use of digital technology or infrastructure measures, insofar as these are necessary for the implementation of the project.
Measures that are primarily tourism or wellness-oriented are not funded.
Recipients of funding
Funding recipients may be natural persons or legal entities.
Type and scope of funding
The grant is awarded within the framework of project funding by way of pro-rata financing.
The scope of the grant is based on the project to be funded. The grant amounts to
a) for eligible personnel and material expenses up to 70%,
b) up to 50% for eligible capital expenditure,
but not more than a total of 500,000 euros.
The recipient of the grant must contribute at least 10% of the eligible expenses.
Grants are only awarded if the eligible expenditure is set at at least EUR 100,000.
