European affairs, international relations and development cooperation; application for funding
Through the Bavarian State Chancellery, the Free State of Bavaria promotes measures in the areas of European affairs, Bavaria's international relations and development cooperation.
Description
Actions will be funded in the following three areas:
- European affairs:
- informing the public about the development of the European Union with its historical, societal, cultural, social, economic and political implications
- public dialogue on the future of the European Union in accordance with the principles of the Bavarian Constitution, the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany and the European Treaties
- International relations
- Fostering Bavaria's relations with foreign states and regions in the areas of administration, police, justice and homeland security, business, science, digitization and technology, culture, education and society, climate protection, the environment and agriculture
- Addressing general foreign and security policy developments
- Activities to promote the German language and German minorities abroad as well as the communication and presentation of Bavaria's cultural identity abroad
- Development cooperation
- Supporting selected states in their development, their self-responsibility, as well as
- the reduction of the causes of flight on site, in meaningful addition to the programs of the European Union and the federal government
Prerequisites
- Requirements that the project sponsor must meet:
- The organization, internal structure, and experience of the grantee must ensure the success of the project and
- provide proper, appropriate use of the grant funds, commensurate with the nature, scope and difficulty of the project.
- Requirements that the project must meet:
- A significant state interest in the funded measure that cannot be satisfied without the grant or cannot be satisfied to the necessary extent
- recognizable reference to Bavaria
- clearly defined project goal
- balanced financing plan
- secured overall financing
- an appropriate ratio between the funds used and the expected long-term and broad impact.
- Project objective can be implemented within the planned budget and a predefined duration
- The project objective should allow for a performance review both during the course of the grant and at a later date.
Procedure
Applications for project funding can be submitted to the Bavarian State Chancellery (Department C I European Affairs and International Affairs) in writing or by e-mail in German using the signed application form with detailed justification of the planned use of the funding and attachments or via the online procedure provided.
The Bavarian State Chancellery will review the application and issue a decision.
Special notes
Funding is provided on a case-by-case basis as part of the state government's cooperation with foreign states and regions, without legal entitlement within the limits of available budget funds.
