The Bavarian Open Data Portal "Open Data Bayern" is the central hub for open data in Bavaria. Business and science, as well as interested citizens and administrative staff, have free access to open administrative data here. The data sets can be processed, shared and reused.
Individual data sets are described in the portal so that they can be found more quickly. In addition to the title and a description, the data set can be assigned keywords and categories, for example, as well as additional information such as the license or the file format under which the data set is available. The data can be accessed directly from the portal.
Open Data Bavaria fulfills two tasks.
- There is the possibility to search for data sets and to retrieve them in the selected format.
When searching, you can enter the search term directly into a search field as well as use the filter options (e.g. by data format) to limit the search. As a search result, you will receive a list of data records that contain the searched term. After selecting the desired data record, you will receive additional information about the data record and can retrieve the data in the corresponding available data format.
There are also options for evaluating the data. For example, certain maps can be viewed in BayernAtlas.
- The portal provides information for the administration as a data provider. This includes assistance on Open Data, licenses and the technical preparation of data, as well as consulting and contact options. We welcome every entry and are happy to assist with publication.
In addition, there are several interfaces that allow automated use. Through these, the descriptions and the data itself can be accessed and evaluated easily, securely and continuously. This is particularly relevant for business and research.
Open Data Bavaria is continuously being developed further.
The team is happy to receive feedback.
