European Territorial Cooperation is an EU structural funding objective financed by the European Regional Development Fund. In the INTERREG program "Bavaria-Czech Republic", cross-border cooperation in the by-cz border area is promoted.

Description

The program for cross-border cooperation Free State of Bavaria - Czech Republic Objective ETZ 2014-2020 builds on the EU program Objective 3 Free State of Bavaria - Czech Republic 2007-2013 (INTERREG IV).

The Objective 3 ETZ program Free State of Bavaria - Czech Republic 2014-2020 (INTERREG V) promotes cross-border cooperation in the Bavarian-Czech border region.

The objective of the program is to further develop the Bavarian-Czech border region into a common living, natural and economic area, to strengthen the competitiveness of the region and to sustainably improve the living and working conditions of the people.

  • Priority 2: Environmental protection and resource efficiency
  • Priority 3: Investment in skills and education
  • Priority 4: Sustainable networks and institutional cooperation

Funding volume: ERDF funding of around €103 million is available for the Bavaria-Czech Republic funding area for the entire 2014-2020 period.

Funding area: On the Bavarian side, the Objective 3 funding area includes the districts of Amberg-Sulzbach, Bayreuth, Cham, Deggendorf, Freyung-Grafenau, Hof, Kronach, Kulmbach, Neustadt an der Waldnaab, Passau, Regen, Regensburg, Schwandorf, Straubing-Bogen, Tirschenreuth and Wunsiedel im Fichtelgebirge, the independent cities of Amberg, Bayreuth, Hof, Passau, Regensburg, Straubing and Weiden in der Oberpfalz, and the districts of Plzensky kraj (Pilsen district), Karlovarský kraj (Karlovy Vary district) and Jihočeský kraj (South Bohemia district) on the Czech side.

Furthermore, funding opportunities for citizen-oriented "small projects" also exist in the funding period 2014-2020 from the so-called disposition fund, which is administered by the two Euregios in the program area "Euregio Bayerischer Wald-Böhmer Wald-Unterer Inn" and "Euregio Egrensis".
