Private vocational school; application for a grant
An operating grant is awarded for the necessary staff and school expenses of private - state-approved or state-recognised - vocational schools.
Description
The subsidy is partially flat-rate. It is calculated on the basis of eligible teaching hours per week and additional hours per week (credit hours, reduction hours), which depend on the respective type and size of school. The subsidy rates for private, state-approved vocational schools range from 79% to 100%, depending on the type of school. State-approved private vocational schools that meet certain requirements and appear to be equivalent to comparable public schools receive the same funding rates as state-approved private vocational schools. On the other hand, state-approved private vocational schools that do not meet these requirements receive a subsidy rate of 65% of the subsidy rate for state-approved private schools.
Prerequisites
An operating grant is awarded to private vocational schools that are run by a legal entity under public or private law and operate on a non-profit basis. The non-profit status must be certified by the competent tax office.
Deadlines
Applications for an operating grant must be submitted to the competent government by 1 April each year.
