Driving personnel; operational checks to verify driving times and rest periods.
Control of compliance with the regulations on the duration of driving times, driving time breaks and rest periods for the driving personnel of trucks and buses.
Description
Overtired truck or bus drivers endanger themselves and pose a considerable danger to road traffic. The European Union and German legislators have therefore enacted laws and regulations. These require drivers of trucks, buses and streetcars to comply with regulations on driving times and rest periods, and employers to monitor their drivers and install tachographs. The primary objectives of these regulations are to protect the health of driving personnel, increase road safety and harmonize competition.
Within the framework of company inspections, the Trade Supervisory Office checks compliance with the international, European and national regulations on driving and rest times for driving personnel, penalizes violations by entrepreneurs and drivers and orders necessary measures.
