Cybercrime; information on combating

The Central Office for Cybercrime Bavaria is responsible for the processing of outstanding preliminary proceedings in the field of cybercrime throughout Bavaria.

In cooperation with the corresponding specialists of the Bavarian police, it investigates e.g. attacks on important economic sectors or proceedings in the area of organised cybercrime.

In coordination with the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice, the Central Office is also responsible for non-prosecution-related issues in the area of cybercrime. Finally, the employees of the Central Office support the Bavarian justice system in training and further education in the area of cybercrime.

For particularly complex or technically difficult cases in the area of child pornography and sexual abuse on the Internet, the Centre for Combating Child Pornography and Sexual Abuse on the Internet (ZKI) was established on 1 October 2020 as a special organisational unit under the umbrella of the Central Office for Cybercrime Bavaria.
