Severely disabled person's card; application for a supplementary sheet
People with disabilities can apply for a supplement to their severely disabled person's ID card. This is required for free transportation on local transport or for a reduction in vehicle tax.
If you have a two-color severely disabled person's ID card with the symbol G, aG, Bl, H or Gl, you can apply for a supplementary sheet with a token. This allows you to use local public transport free of charge.
Severely disabled people who are considerably impaired in their ability to move in road traffic as a result of their disability, or who are helpless or deaf, are transported free of charge by the transport companies on presentation of an appropriately marked ID card with orange-colored printing. A supplementary sheet to the ID card is required for free travel authorization, which must be provided with a valid token.
In the case of signs G and Gl, a reduction in vehicle tax can be claimed as an alternative to free travel. For this, instead of the supplementary sheet with a token, a supplementary sheet without a token must be applied for.
In addition to the free ride entitlement, people with the aG, Bl and H signs are entitled to a vehicle tax exemption, for which no supplement without a token is required.
Trains of the local traffic can be used free of charge; a tariff-based surcharge is required for trains of the local traffic which are subject to surcharges.
In addition, hand luggage, a wheelchair for the disabled (insofar as the nature of the means of transport permits), other orthopedic aids, a guide dog and - insofar as the necessity of a permanent companion is entered in the ID card (symbol "B") - also the person accompanying the severely disabled person are transported free of charge.
Severely disabled people are significantly impaired in their ability to move in road traffic if, as a result of a restriction of the ability to walk, also due to internal ailments, or as a result of seizures or disturbances of the ability to orientate themselves, they are not able to cover distances in local traffic that are usually covered on foot without considerable difficulty or without danger to themselves or others.
Severely disabled persons who are regularly dependent on assistance when using public transport as a result of their disability are entitled to be accompanied by an accompanying person. The determination does not mean that the severely disabled person, if unaccompanied, is a danger to themselves or others.
If your supplement is damaged or you have lost it, you can apply for a replacement.
