Foreign school leaving certificate; application for recognition
As a certificate recognition body, the State Office for Schools is responsible for evaluating general education school-leaving certificates obtained outside Bavaria. This procedure is free of charge.
Description
The Zeugnisanerkennungsstelle at the Bavarian State Office for Schools is the Bavarian state office for the evaluation of certificates for non-Bavarian general education school-leaving qualifications: as proof of higher education entrance qualification, advanced technical college entrance qualification, intermediate school leaving certificate or successful secondary school leaving certificate.
Bavarian students who wish to obtain a university entrance certificate abroad should definitely seek advice in advance from the certificate recognition office on the conditions that must be met for subsequent recognition of the certificate in Germany in accordance with the evaluation guidelines of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany (KMK). There is no official recognition procedure for achievements from a school career that has not yet been completed. The placement of students who have not yet completed their school career and wish to continue it at a German school is decided by the respective school administration in consultation with the responsible school authority - usually following a trial lesson.
