Celebrations by fire departments, shooting clubs, fraternal societies and sports clubs, traditional costume parades, charitable events, parish festivals - all of these are largely purely volunteer-organized festivities. They are an integral part of everyday life and an essential part of the Bavarian attitude to life and the Bavarian quality of life.
However, anyone who wants to organize such festivities often has to abide by a comprehensive set of rules. Even the various responsibilities and different deadlines regularly present volunteers with major problems.
That's why the Bavarian state government has produced a guide to association celebrations. It provides answers in easy-to-understand language to the most important questions about customs and association celebrations and gives tips for planning, organizing and carrying them out.
You can download the guide or order a printed copy via the website www.bestellen.bayern.de (see "Further links").
The " Sorgentelefon Ehrenamt " at 089 / 12 22 212 is an additional service of the Bavarian state government for all volunteers with questions about association celebrations and traditional festivities. You can also submit your concern by e-mail to direkt@bayern.de or by using the contact form Volunteer (see 'Related Links').
The Guide to Association Celebrations and the Volunteer Worry Line help associations and volunteers find their way through the thicket of regulations governing events.
