Military service and reserve service; application for subsistence allowances

Maintenance benefits may be granted to voluntary military service members and their family members or soldiers performing service under the Fourth Section of the Soldiers Act (reservist service members).

Description

The Maintenance Act (Unterhaltssicherungsgesetz, USG) provides cash benefits to ensure the subsistence needs of voluntary military service members and their family members.

In addition, the Maintenance Act also provides cash benefits for soldiers performing service under the Fourth Section of the Soldiers Act (reservist service). The cash benefits are intended to compensate for the loss of income resulting from the performance of service.

For more information on the various benefits under the Maintenance Act, please see "Related Links".
