Inclusion of severely disabled persons; application for benefits by employers
Employers who employ people with disabilities may be eligible for certain benefits and subsidies.
Description
Employers may receive benefits that
a) to equip a workplace or training place in a manner suitable for the disabled, and
b) to compensate for extraordinary burdens arising in connection with the employment of severely disabled persons,
c) for the creation of new jobs or
d) for the creation of new training places and new jobs for older severely disabled persons (within the framework of the inclusion initiative) or the continuation at the state level.
a)
The Inclusion Office at the Bavarian Family and Social Affairs Center (ZBFS) can grant employers benefits for the disability-friendly furnishing and maintenance of workplaces (plant, machinery, equipment), the creation of part-time jobs, the equipping of workplaces or training places with technical work aids and the implementation of other measures necessary for occupational integration. The benefits can be paid as a loan or grant up to the full amount of the costs incurred. The amount of the benefit depends on the fulfillment of the obligation to employ severely disabled persons, the employment of particularly affected severely disabled persons in the company and the circumstances of the individual case.
to b)
The Inclusion Office at the Bavarian Family and Social Affairs Center (ZBFS) can grant subsidies to compensate for extraordinary expenses that arise in connection with the employment of severely disabled persons and cannot be expected of the employer. These include in particular: the extraordinary expenses incurred in connection with the employment of a severely disabled person, e.g. for a special assistant, a substitute, personal care, etc., the pro rata remuneration for such severely disabled persons whose work performance falls significantly short of the average due to disability-related reasons. The benefits are granted in the form of subsidies. Their amount depends on the nature of the exceptional burden, the severity of the disability of the employee concerned and the reasonableness of the burden for the employer.
to c)
The Inclusion Office at the Center for Bavarian Family and Social Affairs (ZBFS) can grant subsidies for investment costs for the creation of new jobs subject to social insurance contributions, i.e., for the purchase of necessary office furniture, a forklift, or a delivery truck, for example. The amount of the benefit depends on the fulfillment of the obligation to employ severely disabled persons, the employment of particularly affected severely disabled persons in the company and the circumstances of the individual case.
to d)
The Inclusion Office at the Bavarian Family and Social Affairs Center (ZBFS) can grant benefits of up to 10,000 euros for the creation of new training positions for severely disabled young people. Employers can also receive up to 10,000 euros for the creation of new jobs for people who have already reached the age of 50. The amount of the benefit depends on the severity of the disability and the circumstances of the individual case.
Prerequisites
The employee for whom the benefit is requested must be severely disabled (Section 2 (2) of the Social Code IX) or equivalent to a severely disabled person (Section 2 (3) of the Social Code IX).
to a) The application must be submitted to the Inclusion Office before the equipment is procured.
to c) The application must be submitted before the start of the training or employment relationship.
