Addictions; counseling

Addicts and people at risk of addiction as well as their relatives can get advice.

Description

Addicts and people at risk of addiction (e.g. alcoholics, drug and medication addicts) as well as their relatives can receive advice and help at the psychosocial counseling and treatment centers (PSB) for addicts and people at risk of addiction.

These addiction counseling services in Bavaria primarily perform the task of outpatient counseling and care. In most cases, the first contacts with those affected take place here; setting the course for inpatient or outpatient therapy is made possible, detoxification treatment can be arranged and aftercare can be provided for former addicts to prevent relapses. PSBs also offer assistance in clarifying how to pay for treatment and rehabilitation.

If you have personal questions about dealing with addiction problems, please contact an addiction counseling center, your public health department or your family doctor. You can find a directory of these facilities on the website of the Bavarian Addiction Support Coordination Office (KBS) (see "Further links").
