Purpose
In order to make it easier for interested young people to choose these training and career paths, the Free State of Bavaria pays a further voluntary subsidy to the sponsors of the above-mentioned types of school over and above the statutory school funding. This voluntary subsidy is linked to the voluntary waiver by the sponsor of the direct collection of school fees from the students. Through this subsidy, the Free State aims to motivate as many young people as possible to choose one of the professions listed below, which are of outstanding social importance in view of a particularly serious shortage of skilled workers in these areas of health care:
- Dietitian,
- Occupational therapist,
- speech therapist,
- masseur and medical bath attendant,
- orthoptist / orthoptist,
- pharmaceutical-technical assistant,
- physiotherapist,
- podiatrist or medical chiropodist.
Subject
The sponsors of private vocational schools for dieticians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, massage therapists, orthoptists, pharmaceutical assistants, physiotherapists and podiatrists are legally entitled to operating subsidies and - indirectly - to reimbursement of school fees within the framework of state school funding.
For the private vocational schools in the aforementioned training professions, the Free State of Bavaria also pays a health bonus in the form of a class subsidy as a voluntary benefit without a legal entitlement within the framework of the available budget funds (budget reservation). The school authority may not then charge its students any additional school fees over and above the state funding.
Beneficiaries
The sponsors of the above-mentioned private vocational schools are eligible to apply.
Type and amount
This is a grant. The exact amount of the grant depends on the class size and the type of schooling (full-time or part-time).
