Water supply; application for a garden connection
You can also use the water provided by the public water supply system for garden irrigation.
Description
If - in accordance with the provisions of your water supplier's water delivery statutes - you (have to) also draw water from the public mains for watering your garden, you may be able to save on wastewater fees in the process, provided that your local public wastewater disposal company provides for this in its local statutes on contributions and fees to the drainage statutes. To this end, the statutes must contain a provision to the effect that, upon application, certain quantities of water that can be proven not to have entered the public wastewater disposal system can be deducted from the wastewater volume that is significant for calculating the wastewater fees. To prove this quantity of water consumed in the garden, it is usually necessary for you to attach a sealed, permanently installed and calibrated garden water meter to the corresponding (garden) water pipe as an extension meter and to report the quantity of garden water consumed on the property to the municipality.
Note: If such a statutory regulation does not exist in your locality, such a deduction is not possible.
Please contact your municipal administration for more detailed information on this subject.
