Statistical data; information on official statistics of Bavaria
Official statistics are collected by government agencies and compiled on the basis of laws (EU regulations, Federal Statistics Act, Bavarian Statistics Act, data protection laws).
Description
The Bavarian State Office for Statistics is the central authority for official statistics in Bavaria and currently produces around 369 current statistics from areas such as population, economy, finance, social affairs, culture, education and science. Data is used from public authorities and administrative registers or obtained by surveying households and businesses. Each statistic is ordered by politicians and is collected on the basis of its own legal regulation.
The statistical data serve as an important basis for political decisions, but are also requested by companies, associations and the scientific community. The most important statistics can be found on the homepage of the Bavarian State Office for Statistics under the thematic breakdown in the left-hand column. Additional data can be accessed via the Genesis database. The statistical reports of the office can be accessed under Publications. Microdata specifically tailored to the needs of science can be requested via the Research Data Center.

Das Bayerische Landesamts für Statistik veröffentlicht die Ergebnisse seiner Erhebungen in Fachserien (z. B. Statistische Berichte) und Querschnittsveröffentlichungen (z. B. Statistisches Jahrbuch, Statistik kommunal). Sämtliche Veröffentlichungen können sowohl in Dateiform als auch als Druckwerk (z. T. kostenpflichtig) bezogen werden. Die Mehrzahl der Veröffentlichungen (z. B. Statistische Berichte) steht zum kostenlosen Download bereit.

Statistik kommunal
"Statistik kommunal" wird aus der statistischen Datenbank generiert und kann für jede Gemeinde Bayerns kostenlos abgerufen werden. Die 33 Tabellen und 21 Diagramme für jede Gemeinde stellen bis zu 2.200 wesentliche statistische Daten übersichtlich dar und ergeben fundierte und aussagekräftige Gemeindeprofile. Zeitreihen über mehrere Jahre – z.T. Jahrzehnte – ermöglichen es, Entwicklungen und Tendenzen zu erkennen und für künftige Entscheidungen zu nutzen. Statistik kommunal gibt es auch für jede übergeordnete Regionaleinheit Bayerns.

Forschungsdatenzentrum der statistischen Ämter der Länder
Die Mikrodaten der amtlichen Statistik stellen für die empirische Sozial- und Wirtschaftsforschung eine wesentliche Datenquelle dar. Zur Verbesserung der Dateninfrastruktur für die Wissenschaft wurde im März 2002 das Forschungsdatenzentrum der statistischen Ämter der Länder etabliert.

Die statistischen Ämter des Bundes und der Länder bieten mit ihren Gemeinschaftsprodukten "Regionaldatenbank Deutschland" und "Regionalatlas" tief gegliederte Ergebnisse der amtlichen Statistik für alle Landkreise und kreisfreien Städte Deutschlands an.
