Interpreters and translators at authorities and courts; application for temporary registration in the database of interpreters and translators by EU citizens
Interpreters and translators working only temporarily in Germany can apply for entry in the interpreters' and translators' database.
Interpreters and translators working only temporarily in Germany are entered in the interpreters' and translators' database in accordance with Art. 63 AGGVG if they are legally established in another EU or EEA Member State for the purpose of exercising such activities.
They are also registered if they can prove that they have worked as a court or official interpreter in their country of establishment for at least one year during the previous ten years. This proof must be submitted to the President of the Regional Court of Munich I.
The entry in the database expires after twelve months if it is not applied for again.
The registration must be applied for at the Regional Court Munich I together with the required documents.
The following information must be provided: First and last name, nationality, occupation, address of residence and professional establishment and, if requested, telephone number and internet address.
Proof of expertise
In the case of interpreters and translators working only temporarily in Germany, the certificate of activity as a court or official interpreter or translator in the country of establishment must be submitted.
Certificate of good conduct (not older than six months) for submission to an authority
