Firecracker testing; application for a proof test
The Bavarian Proof Administration performs both initial and repeat testing on firecracker devices and guns.
Description
Like firearms, firecrackers must also be subjected to a proof test before they are used. The firing law regulates the firing of firecrackers. The safety inspection and subsequent marking of firecrackers is carried out by the firing offices. Unlike firearms, firecrackers are subject to mandatory re-testing at five-year intervals.
The testing of firecrackers is conducted at the firing office or at approved firing sites. The delivery bill required for the test date is available at the respective firing office.
If you have any further questions, please contact the responsible Beschussamt (Munich or Mellrichstadt).
Prerequisites
Firecrackers can only be delivered by prior appointment.
When requesting an appointment, information must be provided at least about the type of firecracker (e.g. hand-held, stand-up, cannon, etc.), type of ignition, caliber, and whether it is a larger, heavy firecracker (cannot be carried by one person).
Procedure
The applicant has to fill in the consignment bill for firecrackers (see under "Forms").
