Regional plan; preparation

In Bavaria, regional plans are drawn up by the regional planning associations for the 18 planning regions.

Description

Bavaria is divided into a total of 18 planning regions. In order to implement the objectives and principles of spatial planning, which are laid down in the State Development Program (LEP), so-called regional plans are drawn up by the regional planning associations.

The regional plans are developed from the State Development Program and concretize the specifications therein in terms of space and content for the 18 Bavarian regions. They are drawn up by the regional planning associations and updated as required. The regional plans contain specifications on supra-disciplinary and technical issues such as objectives and principles for settlement and open space development as well as priority and reserved areas, e.g. for the protection and extraction of mineral resources.

The regional plans each consist of a textual part with objectives and principles and their justification as well as maps with the graphic representation of objectives and principles.

Information on the regional plans can be found on the website of the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy and on the websites of the regional planning associations.
