Animal husbandry; application for a holding number
For clear identification, all farms subject to registration must be assigned a twelve-digit registration number by the responsible Office for Food, Agriculture and Forestry.
Description
For clear identification and registration, a 12-digit farm number (= registration number according to the Livestock Traffic Ordinance) must have been assigned to a farm. This makes it possible to assign the reports submitted in the Hi-Tier database to a farm and is required, among other things, for applying for an equine passport.
The 12-digit farm number is structured according to the statistical municipality key: 2 digits federal state, 1 digit administrative district, 2 digits county, 3 digits municipality, 4 digits sequential number, e.g. 05 123 456 7890. Optionally, the country key for Germany (276) can also be prefixed, e.g. 276 05 176 148 9876.
The Offices for Food, Agriculture and Forestry are responsible for assigning farm numbers and for recording and changing address data. They also assign the applicable farm type to the registration number.
