Elementary, middle and special schools; application for school supervisory approval of building projects.
School supervisory approval is required for the construction of new buildings, conversions and extensions at elementary, middle and special schools. The governments are responsible for issuing these permits.
The school supervisory authority's approval establishes that the construction program meets the school's needs and covers the necessary space requirements, taking into account the existing building stock.
Approval by the school authorities shall be granted if the necessary space requirements for the numbers of pupils and classes to be expected in the long term - taking into account the existing situation - are covered and the smooth running of the school is guaranteed. In the case of conversions and extensions, approval may already be granted if the realization of the planned construction measures will at least improve inadequate school conditions.
The application to be submitted by the cost unit with the participation of the school must be accompanied by documents (see under "Documents").
The governments are responsible for granting school supervisory approval.
Documentation on the actual and/or defined catchment area
documentation on the number of pupils expected in the long term
Documents on the school's space requirements based on §§ 3 and 4 of the German School Construction Ordinance (SchulbauV) with information on the function and size of the planned rooms and areas, the existing building stock and its future use
